Port Sorell (E)

Its long since we picked up our friends at Sydney International Airport and flew to Tasmania two days later. First of all we stayed with Fabis ex-hostfamily at a campground in Port Sorell on the North Coast of Tasmania.

After a short flight from Sydney we arrived in Launceston in the northern part of Tasmania. The very first sight of Tasmania was stunning. Beautifully outlined gumtrees siluetted on the colourful sky with a setting sun to the West. Shortly after drinking in this beauty we encountered the first wallabies next to the road. Many other would follow during the next month...

The Campground in Port Sorell where we stayed the next fortnight, is directly situated at the wonderfully white and sandy beach. It was then the water with which we played, did wake boaring, swimming and of course sun bathing. Especially wake boarding brought some of us in close contact with the water, although Fabi, Angi and Johnny showed us properly how to do it.

But it wasn't only the beach and sea we explored. We did trips to many different places, watched out for wildlife, hiked Craddle Mountain, went to the chocolate factory in Latrobe twice, dived for abalonies, visited the Nut and Stanley and did a two day hike to the Walls of Jerusalem.

There were also a few birthdays to celebrate. Fabi and Jon celebrated theirs together at the 25th which was great fun...
